Dalaman Airport Security
The security of Dalaman Airport is throughout and at times might seem unnecessary, but it is all to protect the safety of the passengers. After arriving at the airport, it is needed to pass the first security check. All electronics, such as tablets, laptops, e-readers, and smartphones have to be taken out of the hand luggage and be placed in plastic boxes, which are passed through a scanner. In most cases, security will not allow taking these items back into the hand luggage and passenger will be asked to put them into luggage. Keep this in mind, because there is no special area for the repackaging of main and hand luggage and it may cause some discomfort to the passenger who is asked to do so.
Apart from restrictions on electronics, it is also important to know about restrictions on liquids. They can only be carried in containers of a maximum volume of 100 millimeters. The containers with liquids must be carried in a plastic, transparent bag. The bag itself must not exceed the volume of 1 liter per passenger. The definition of a liquid includes water and other drinks, syrups, lotions, perfumes, hair and shower gels, shaving foam, mascara, creams, and oils.
Medicine which might be needed during the flight can be carried in, but it is important to have proof that the medicine is necessary for the passenger. For this reason, it is recommended to carry prescriptions. After passing the first security check, the immigration control takes place and required travel documents must be shown (a passport and in some cases a visa), Then, when a flight is announced, a final security check must be passed. In most cases, security staff check each hand luggage separately and examine its contents for the maximum security. Sometimes passengers are asked to turn on their smartphones in front of the security.
Besides these safety control measures, some luggage might be checked at any time by the security staff. The measure of security depends on the time of travel. Some months might be stricter because of certain events, and some months might be more laid-back.
