Marmaris Rhodes Ferry – Marmaris Rhodes Tour

Whilst on holiday in Marmaris why not pop over to the Dodecanese island of Rhodes for the day and experience the sights the Greek island has to offer. The catamaran from Marmaris to Rhodes runs daily during the summer months and takes just 50 minutes.

Sights and attractions in Rhodes Island

When the catamaran arrives in Rhodes harbor you will disembark and make your way through passport control. You are then free to enjoy your time however you wish. There are guided bus tours available from the harbor and a taxi rank if you wish to explore further afield, but most choose to explore Rhodes town at their own leisure on foot. Rhodes town has an abundance of shops, restaurants, and bars just a short 10 to 15 minutes’ walk away from the harbor. You will find famous brand shops such as Marks and Spencer, designer boutiques, and smaller quaint shops and stalls selling handicrafts and leather goods.

There are many restaurants and café bars in the town where you can sample the Greek cuisine for lunch or fast food chains if you prefer to eat on the go. The waterfront area is popular with tourists and the menus suit most tastes, whereas the backstreets hide the smaller bistros, bohemian cafes and Greek taverna’s which serve delicious authentic Greek dishes and are definitely worth a visit.

Rhodes town is awash with history which can be clearly seen from just the architecture alone. The layers of history can be seen in the buildings of the Old Town area and range from classical, medieval, Byzantine, Ottoman and Italian periods. There are numerous museums and historic buildings to visit such as the Archaeological Museum, the Mosque of Suleyman, the Palace of the Grand Masters, or make your own history lesson and take a guidebook with you for a walk through the Old Town and the neighbourhoods of the Jewish Quarter, the Hora and the Knight’s Quarter.

Rhodes is a Greek island and the currency is Euro. Food and drink prices can seem more expensive than Marmaris, especially in tourist areas of Rhodes Town. Taxi prices are cheaper than Marmaris so if you do feel like venturing further afield during your visit you will find that it may be worth taking a taxi for the reasonable fare and for the precious time saved during your short visit. This tour is suitable for children but please be aware that the day is not guided.

DO NOT FORGET TO BRING: – Passport – Euro currency – Sunglasses – Camera – Suncream – Comfortable shoes.

Please note we are not responsible for ensuring that you have the correct visa to enter Greece. Please check that you are eligible to enter Greece (EU) with the country which issued your passport.
